Directly approaching companies for job opportunities is a tedious task but it is very beneficial if you are actively looking for job opportunities. In 2024, when the global market is facing backlashes, getting a job directly through on campus hiring is becoming very tough nowadays. Although, I am not saying that it is not easy to get a job, but still having knowledge we can not express ourselves properly in front of the company. So, before approaching any company for a job, let’s make sure that we have the ability to express ourselves properly in front of the company.

Steps to follow Before Approaching Companies:

Identify your desired Companies:

While studying or unemployed, we try to find any company by hook or by crook. But after getting the job we realize that getting the job should not be the only priority. Then slowly we realize that mental health, interest, work life balance etc. matter a lot. Some want to work in MNCs while some prefer Startups & some keep hunting for Product based companies. So, it is very crucial to set our goal at first before hunting for jobs as it will make our life more easy in the long term. So, before approaching the companies make a list of your desired company, company culture, work life balance, etc. And choose your interest, for example some prefer Data Science over Software Development. If you are positive to learn something, then companies will hire you so that they can teach you and employ you in the work. So, behave politely with the people on linkedin. Try to connect with HR Professionals of your respective field.

Participate in Hackathon/Coding Challenges:

Nowadays, many companies arrange Hackathons & Coding Challenges. If you feel confident enough in coding, you may join these challenges. These challenges offer not only rewards as money but also many companies offer job opportunities or PPI (Pre-placement Interview). Keep everything as precise as possible.
